Gao while addressing the gathering, throw light on the biography of Subhash Chandra Bose and said that Netaji was an icon of sacrifice and discipline. He sacrificed all his happiness and splendor for the independence of the country and adopted the most difficult path to attain independence.

“Netaji was qualified for the Indian civil service but he didn’t want to serve the British government. So he quit and started fighting for the freedom of India. The Azad Hind Fauj was formed by him that inspired many people into the freedom struggle and continues to inspire Indians,” the Lok Sabha MP from Eastern Parliamentary constituency said.

The very impressed MP assured to install a statue of Netaji in a vulnerable place with the help of local MLA Kaling Moyong and to observe Parakram Diwas every year in a grand manner involving all communities of Pasighat.

Moyong appreciated the efforts of the president and secretary of AESBWS Jagdish Barman and Shyam Dasgupta respectively and their associates for celebrating the occasion.

“Bose was a national hero and fought to free the motherland from the British clutches and therefore all communities should join and celebrate irrespective of tribe, cast, creed and religion,” Moyong said.
